In this section monkipunk.com will try to provide you with information about some of the bands the guys from Boo! were in before they got together, such as Blue Chameleon, The Honeymoon Suites, Sarsippians and Live Jimi Presley. I am still gathering my information and am still busy getting my hands on pictures and more audio files from these bands. I will try to get some bio's here and maybe some stories about them. we'll just see where this is going. Enjoy! |

| Leon about Sarsippians: |
| Sarsippians hail from the early South African music explosion. My first ever band. The song Crazy was in a Battle of the Demos competition on 5Fm and won for 5 weeks, before being taken off by B-World. The band never toured. Wasnt possible in those days, as we were fighting venues to scrap cover bands and allow original bands to perform. I am glad that this battle is now over. |

| Leon about Live Jimi Presley: |
| Live
Jimi Presley was a huge performance band. LJP enjoyed a large
underground following and was the first industrial band in SA using scrap
metal for percussion, sequencing for loops and theatrical performance to
enhance the show. A show would touch all your senses. You can hear, see,
feel and smell (sparks from angle grinder), even taste (having fruit coming
from the ceiling). A gimp (ppl were fighting to be the gimp) was usually
placed in front the stage, followed by a dual of a clown and surgeon using
grinders, shields and fire. This visual assault made LJP one of the most
prominent bands in South Africa during the nineties. In the song Unger -meaning angry and hunger, you can hear the angle grinder switching on and scrapping on metal. 69 at Half Past Ten is an epic and usually the closing song of the set. This was recorded 10 years ago and got the lyric bom, bom, bom, bom Iraq. A the end of this song you can also hear the grinder. A taxing Rock n Roll lifestyle brought an end to the band. LJP I always considered to be way ahead of its time. |

| Blue Chameleon
Hoss Before there was the wonderfully eclectic and sexually ambiguous BOO there was Blue Chameleon With a much darker, harder sound. Blue Chameleon were signed (along with Bworld) to Tusk as part of the label's development project and cut a 4 track e.p. "Hoss" is a brief one minute + snapshot of energy and unpredictability, featuring bassist/vocalist Chris C and the horn wielding Ampie Omo in full on manic mode loads of fun !
